MidCity The City Council approved an agreement with High Point Huntsville LLC for the company to lease a 6,500-square foot parcel at MidCity. Public Works is experiencing additional garbage collection delays this week after last week’s winter weather. Today, Monday, January 22 crews will be collecting last week’s Thursday routes. Public Works is experiencing additional garbage collection delays this week due to the effects of bitter cold temperatures and patchy ice on some streets. Toyota-Mazda Development Agreement Council voted unanimously to approve a Development Agreement with the Industrial Development Board and Toyota Motor North America that is expected to provide a $5.6 billion return on investment in the next 20 years. Volleyball courts The City Council approved a contract with Chorba Construction to begin work on a new sand volleyball complex at John Hunt Park. The facility will include 12 courts, easing the load at the existing six courts at Brahan Spring Park, and a building that will include concessions, changing facilities and restrooms. Economic Development Council voted to approve an economic development agreement with the BOCAR Group that will include up to $400,000 in performance and investment-based incentives.
