Huntsville opens tap for new small businesses

An ordinance change approved by City Council will expand the footprint for brewpubs to operate in the Lincoln Mill area. The amendment updates the boundary to allow brewpubs to locate in areas north of downtown bounded by Meridian Street, Oakwood Avenue, Burbank Street, Hurst Avenue, Webster Drive and Abingdon Avenue. City of Huntsville municipal offices, including Municipal Court, will open at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, due to the possibility of early morning icy road conditions. Fixed-route Orbit transit and Access paratransit service will also operate on a two-hour delay. Citizens can sign up for emergency notifications via the City of Huntsville’s website or follow the Huntsville Police Department’s Facebook and Twitter for road closures and other traffic safety information.
