The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) is again asking for the public’s help in solving a 2024 homicide. Kirk Uban, 49, was shot and killed on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, in the 1200 block of Hobbs Island Road. Witnesses told investigators Urban was involved in a verbal altercation with a middle-aged white man just before the shooting. That man was last seen swimming nearby with his wife and two children.
