The City of Huntsville’s municipal offices and Municipal Court will close Friday, April 7, in observance of Good Friday. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, April 10. Because garbage collection occurs Monday-Thursday, there will be no change to service. Huntsville Transit will operate a normal schedule for both Orbit fixed-route buses and Access paratransit services. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to a shooting call at 4:45 p.m. in the 4600 block of Governors House Drive. When officers arrived, a female shooting victim was located. Wiregrass Construction Company won the $5.1 million contract to improve 51 neighborhood streets within the next 10 months.
