Why “Where” Matters – National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency conference in Huntsville

Mayor Tommy Battle is pleased to announce Huntsville will be the location for the first Geospatial Advantage Conference & Career Fair: Why Where Matters, hosted by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and GeoHuntsville on Nov. 29 at the Jackson Center in Cummings Research Park.

“This conference is a significant event in Huntsville’s elevated profile as a major contributor in space, defense and technology-related industries,” said Mayor Battle.

NGA is a federal agency specialized in world-class geospatial intelligence, and this event will bring government agencies, non-profit organizations, academia and industry together to engage in discussions on growing the geospatial ecosystem in Huntsville.

Confirmed speakers include Ms. Tonya Wilkerson, NGA deputy director, experts from the National Reconnaissance Office, Defense Intelligence Agency, FBI, NASA, U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Command, GeoHuntsville, Intelligence and the National Security Alliance.

GeoHuntsville is inviting five major schools in the region to participate in the Career Fair: University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama A&M, University of North Alabama, Oakwood University, Drake State Community and Technical College.
