Alabama announced 14,707 new jobs and $4.2 billion in capital expenditures (CAPEX) in 2016.
Local jobs and capital expenditures
In Huntsville, there were 1,970 jobs and $248 million in capital expenditures announced.
Largest new employer
In 2016, Woodbridge was the largest new employer in Huntsville with 164 jobs.
Much love for Boeing
Overall, Boeing added the most jobs in Huntsville with 470 new jobs and most CAPEX at $78M as part of a major expansion project.
Global Impact
In terms of FDI or Foreign Direct Investment, Canada, Germany, Israel, Japan, Switzerland, and the UK each had expansions. Major announcements related to the Rocket City included Toyota (Japan) with $32M invested and Woodbridge (Canada) adding 164 jobs
