2016 tourism had the highest economic impact for Huntsville/Madison County at $1.19 billion…a 4.9% increase over 2015’s level.

There were 3.1 million visitors to Huntsville/Madison County in 2016, up from 2.9 million in 2015.
Moving on up
Madison County ranked third for most visitors.
Tourism’s significant local impact
Tourism supported 15,413 jobs, accounting for 8.58% of total employment in Huntsville/Madison County.
Top attractions
657,000 people visited the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in 2016, most among paid attractions. The Huntsville Botanical Garden was fifth with 276,952 and the EarlyWorks Family of Museums was ninth with 174,000 visitors.
