STAC Agents Seize Large Amount of Edible Marijuana “Candy”

Agents with the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC) have charged 32 year old David Scott of Huntsville with drug trafficking.
The arrest was the result of a search warrant served on September 7 in the 200 block of Mountain View Drive. It was the culmination of a lengthy investigation involving the trafficking of large amounts of high-grade marijuana in the Huntsville/Madison County area. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of 127 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 160 pounds of edible marijuana “candy”, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, a handgun, and over $6,000 in cash. The drugs have an estimated street value of over $1,000,000 . Sergeant Jerry King said, “We want the community, and especially parents, to be aware of this type of marijuana candy, and we encourage parents to educate themselves on current drug trends.”
Scott is charged with Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Cocaine. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
