Projects in Downtown and Redstone Gateway topped the list of non-residential projects permitted last month. Residential permits and CO’s more than doubled year-over-year.
Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In November, 433 housing units were permitted, 95 single- and 338 multi-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 31 (Downtown), where 278 units were permitted, all multi-family. This is a 297% increase over November 2018, when 109 housing units (103 single- and 6 multi-family) were permitted.
Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
244 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 119 single- and 125 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of November was 19.02 (Jones Valley) where 127 housing units were added, 2 single- and 125 multi-family. This is a 128% increase from November 2018, when 107 housing units (103 single- and 4 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
