Huntsville Animal Services is participating in the 2019 “Clear the Shelters” event, a weeklong free adoption special for felines and canines at Animal Services starting Monday, August 12, through Saturday, August 17.  The goal is to find forever homes for Shelter pets at  no charge . Restrictions may apply to specific pets.

“Clear the Shelters” is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness that more than two million animals are euthanized across the country each year due to overcrowded shelters, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. More information is available at  cleartheshelters.com .

All free adoptions include vaccinations, microchip for pet identification, spay or neuter surgery to prevent pet overpopulation, rabies and license tag, deworming for parasites, and a free bag of pet food and other free surprises while supplies last.

Please join us as we work to empty the Shelter this week and save the lives of all animals.  Huntsville Animal Services is among more than 1,400 animal shelters and rescue groups across the country participating in the national “Clear the Shelters” campaign to encourage dog and cat adoptions. Huntsville has participated since 2015.

The Shelter is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
