Aerojet Rocketdyne will break ground on its new state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility in North Huntsville Industrial Park on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. Mayor Battle calls the event another milestone day in Huntsville’s future.

“What we are celebrating is a two-for-one win for the people of North Alabama,” said Mayor Battle. “First, Aerojet Rocketdyne is bringing leading edge technologies to Huntsville, ensuring our leadership role in the next advances of the aerospace propulsion industry. Second, Aerojet Rocketdyne is the first company to take advantage of the unique proximity of Cummings Research Park and North Huntsville’s Industrial Park – just 10 minutes apart – all part of the City’s visionary strategic effort to provide the world’s most innovative companies a one-stop location for design, engineering, development and production.”

The Aerojet Rocketdyne facility in North Huntsville Industrial Park will include 135,000 square feet and employ about 200 workers in composites, additive manufacturing and engine assembly. Coming soon will be Aerojet Rocketdyne’s new Defense Business Headquarters, Program Management, Engineering and Rocketship business units in Cummings Research Park with about 500 employees.
