Mayor Battle Proclaims March 30 Women Owned Business Day

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle joined the Women’s Business Council in proclaiming March 30 as Women Owned Business Day.

The proclamation reading took place at PALCO, a company in South Huntsville owned by Janice Migliore, and included a host of women business leaders from across the city.

“We are seeing remarkable growth in the number of women taking the helm, starting businesses, and running their own companies,” said Mayor Battle. “These women have created a strong network of support where they inspire, advise, and mentor other women to be strong CEOs. They are paving the way for others to take a chance, creating a multiplier effect.”

Today’s event marks a fitting conclusion to National Women’s History Month. For these women, however, it is just the beginning of more women taking leadership roles in business ownership.
