Construction in Greenbrier and Downtown topped the list of non-residential projects permitted last month. Residential permits and CO’s increased year-over-year.
Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In June, 132 housing units were permitted, 115 single- and 17 multi-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 106.22 (Providence), where 21 units were permitted, 4 single- and 17 multi-family. This is a 4.8% increase over June 2018, when 126 housing units (117 single- and 9 multi-family) were permitted.
Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
244 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 97 single- and 147 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of June was 14.02 (Research Park) where 128 housing units were added, 1 single- and 127 multi-family. This is a 168% increase from June 2018, when 91 housing units (all single-family) were granted CO’s.
