Several projects at the Mazda-Toyota site in Greenbrier were among the list of non-residential projects permitted last month. New home starts and CO’s were stable year-over-year.
Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In January, 129 housing units were permitted, all single-family. The top tracts for building permits last month were 109.01 (Hampton Cove) and 113 (Owens Cross Roads), where 24 units were permitted each. This is a 1.6% increase over January 2019, when 127 housing units (all single-family) were permitted.
Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
85 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 82 single- and 3 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of January was 112 (Martin-Zierdt) where 11 housing units were added, all single-family. This is a 2.3% decrease from January 2019, when 87 housing units (all single-family) were granted CO’s.
