Huntsville warming centers extend hours

The Downtown Rescue Mission (1400 Evangel Drive) continues to operate 24-7. Other shelter hours are:

Salvation Army (305 Seminole Drive): The shelter will operate through Sunday, Jan. 21. Daytime hours are 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. (call 256-536-8876). Overnight hours are 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (call 256-536-9147).

Community Warming Center – The Livin’ Room (2820 Governors Drive): Open until 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. Shelter reopens Friday at 3 p.m. and will remain open until 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21. Call 256-427-5400 or rvealeby@nativity-hsv.org

First Seventh Day Adventist Church (1301 Evangel Drive): Open until 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. Call 256-852-8360.

If the City is open, Huntsville Transit will provide transportation to warming centers. If the City is closed, call the Huntsville Police non-emergency number, 256-722-7100.
