Huntsville Police conduct narcotics investigation

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) served a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation at a home in the 3800 block of 10th Avenue the evening of Tuesday, May 24.

While officers were attempting to serve the warrant, the subject of the investigation was shot. HEMSI treated the subject at the scene before transporting him to Huntsville Hospital. The person is expected to survive. No officers were injured during the incident.

Per protocol, HPD requested the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) lead the investigation following the incident. Please direct any further questions about the incident to SBI.
