Got 5 minutes? Complete this Huntsville Transit survey today

Published on September 28, 2022

Two men look at a board asking for feedback on transit improvements. Both men have their backs turned. One is wearing a red shirt. The other a green shirt and a blue cap.

Want to weigh in on the future of public transportation in Huntsville? Then take five minutes or less to complete an online survey before Friday, Sept. 30.

The survey is part of Huntsville Transit’s effort to engage with the community about ways to improve the system as it prepares for future growth. Feedback from the survey will be part of a comprehensive study that shapes operations for both Orbit shuttle and Access paratransit service.

“We hope riders and non-riders will take the time to answer the brief survey before it expires,” said Quisha Bryant, Director of Huntsville’s Parking and Public Transportation Department. “The feedback we receive today will influence what kind of Huntsville Transit we have tomorrow and the next few years.”

Huntsville Transit officials, along with representatives from transportation consultant Nelson\Nygaard, recently held public meetings at recreation centers and the transfer station on Church Street.

During the meetings, Bryant said Orbit riders expressed a strong interest in adding Sunday service. Riders also requested more frequent buses, later run times and service to new areas.

A new round of public outreach meetings will take place in mid-November. Look for more details in the coming weeks.
