Geo Huntsville Announces Annual Summit 2018

GEO Huntsville proudly announces its annual conference, GEO Huntsville Summit 2018 . The event is designed to give participants the latest information on innovations in the Geospatial industry and related government and educational initiatives. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle will deliver a welcome and introduction promptly at 8:30am on February 26, 2018.

The theme for GEO Huntsville Summit 2018 is “Future Innovations in Geospatial” and will feature dynamic speakers and presentations on cutting edge trends pertaining to technology, education and professional development in the geospatial industry.

Featured speakers for the event include LTG(R)Ron Burgess as the morning keynote and Dr. Anthony Vinci, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as the afternoon keynote.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Jorge Garcia, Executive Director, GEOHuntsville, Dan Irwin – MSFC/NASA – SERVIR, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, John London – SMDC – Kestrel Eye, Terrence Howard – Huntsville Teleport, Chris Johnson – Overview of GEOHSV UAS, Initiatives and GeoQ Immersion Course Intro, Travis Potter – FEMA UAS Use for Disaster Response, Alabama Department of Transportation UAS Program Update and FAA .

GEO Huntsville (a 501c6 non-profit organization) is a collaborative effort among businesses, academia and government entities in our region to support workforce growth and economic development. We accomplish this by bringing awareness to the professional expertise that exists in the area, identifying job opportunities that continues to build the economic base, and supporting our area public safety and responder communities with the latest advances in geospatial technology, applications and training.  The objective is to establish the Huntsville region as a major corridor for geospatial excellence.
