City takes first step toward future Resolute Way interchange

City Council unanimously approved a resolution to define a lease boundary with Redstone Arsenal for the future Resolute Way interchange, a necessary step to begin bringing this project to fruition.

Located on Interstate 565 at Madison Boulevard near Redstone Arsenal, a new full access interchange will provide an alternate route to and from Redstone Arsenal, reducing traffic at the busy Research Park Boulevard and I-565 interchange.

“The Resolute Way interchange will ease current traffic congestion and help accommodate the future growth of Redstone Arsenal, providing a safer, more efficient route for workers and visitors,” Mayor Tommy Battle said. “This project is vital to keeping our city moving forward and ensuring that we have the transportation infrastructure necessary to support our continued success.”
