Traffic Alert: Celebrating Education Back to School Parade and Festival

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) would like to remind motorists the annual Celebrating Education Day Parade and Festival could impact traffic in north Huntsville on Saturday, Aug. 17.

HPD will shut down the right lane on Blue Spring Road, Stringfield Road and Pulaski Pike for the parade, which will run from 8-10 a.m.

The parade lineup will begin at 7 a.m. at the Dollar General Market located near the intersection of Blue Spring and Mastin Lake roads. It will proceed north toward Oakdale Terrace and turn left onto Stringfield Road. The parade will then turn right on Pulaski Pike and end at the campus of Mae Jemison High School, 5000 Pulaski Pike .

If you plan to travel in the area, HPD urges you do so with caution.
