The Dog Days of Summer are gone, but Alabama’s hottest season will be around for at least another three weeks. For two days only, Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) is offering a way to beat the heat while also clearing out its overcrowded kennels. Today is National Dog Day, and Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) is marking the occasion by drastically reducing adoption fees on available animals. The kennels at HAS are exceeding capacity and officials are desperately trying to find potential companions for homeless canines.
