Huntsville Extends Face Cover Requirements in City Buildings

The City of Huntsville will require employees and the public to wear face coverings in all City buildings, Mayor Tommy Battle announced Thursday during a news conference at City Hall. Though Alabama’s Safer at Home Order expires Friday, April 9, the City decided to continue its face covering protocols until further notice. The City of Huntsville’s municipal offices and Municipal Court will be closed Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, April 5. Huntsville Transit will operate a normal schedule for both Orbit fixed-route buses and Access paratransit services. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle on Thursday announced the appointments of Bernita Reese as director of Huntsville Parks & Recreation and Quisha Riche as director of Parking & Public Transit.
