New grocery retailer, Food City, to build 6 stores in Huntsville
April 27, 2023The Huntsville City Council has approved a development agreement to bring a new grocery retailer to the Huntsville market. Food City will invest $90 million to build six new stores and create 1,350 jobs over the next five years. March 23, 2023Funding to begin Phase 2 of Huntsville’s residential street repaving plan for this fiscal year has been approved by City Council. Wiregrass Construction Company won the $5.1 million contract to improve 51 neighborhood streets within the next 10 months. Mayor Tommy Battle’s 2022-2023 budget includes about $19.5 million for street improvements – the most money ever allocated for residential resurfacing.
