At its regularly scheduled meeting Dec. 2, the Huntsville City Council approved 10 resolutions allowing Community Development to administer financial assistance from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). Under the conditions of ADECA’s 2021 Emergency Solutions Grant Program, Community Development Manager Scott Erwin said the City could only distribute funds to nonprofit organizations that provide services to the homeless.
“These emergency grants will provide welcome relief to many of our nonprofit partners just in time for the Christmas season,” he said. “We appreciate ADECA’s help and hope these funds assist more people in getting the support and services they need.”
The following agencies will receive awards from the City with ADECA funds:
- Harris Home for Children – $40,000
