Huntsville to study bus rapid transit corridor along University Drive

The City of Huntsville approved a development agreement with Glaukos Corporation to build a multimillion-dollar research, development and manufacturing facility in Cummings Research Park (CRP). In partnership with the Huntsville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the City is set to improve the intersection of Slaughter Road and Madison Boulevard. The MPO is covering 80% of the $5.375 million project while the City is funding the remaining 20%. The funding will evaluate the need for additional turn lanes and signal improvements at the intersection to minimize traffic backup and cover construction costs.
