Huntsville Animal Services saves lives in 2022, promotes spay/neuter
January 12, 2023Huntsville Animal Services found homes for more than 5,100 animals in 2022, representing a live-release rate of nearly 92% for the year. January 11, 2023The North Alabama Drug Task Force (NADTF) has charged Justin Omari Mitchell, 25, with drug trafficking, drug sale near a school and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds following an incident at 1001 Haysland Road on Tuesday, Jan. 10. NADTF agents learned Mitchell was selling fentanyl-pressed pills while working in a contract security role at an after-school sporting event. January 11, 2023City of Huntsville municipal offices will close Monday, Jan. 16, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This includes Animal Services, Parks & Recreation, Public Transit and Municipal Court. Residential curbside collection will be delayed by one day the week of Jan. 16-20. Residents should leave carts at the curb until they are collected. Essential police and fire personnel will remain on duty throughout the holiday.
