Huntsville Beautification Board recognizes more than 300 properties

Mayor Tommy Battle and City Council members, in conjunction with the Huntsville Beautification Board, recognized more than 300 properties at the 49 th annual Beautification Awards ceremony.

“It truly is a celebration to recognize those who are especially diligent about keeping their homes and organizations attractive and appealing,” Mayor Battle said. “Their hard work is something we should all appreciate and realize that it makes our wonderful city an even more special place to live and work.”

The awards program began in 1975 and spotlights those who have made outstanding contributions to the City’s beautification efforts. The City’s Green Team works to set a standard for landscape beauty, cleanliness and environmental consciousness and partners with the Huntsville Beautification Board on the awards.

“The Beautification Awards is one of the highlights for Green Team each year,” said Manager of Landscape Management Niki Sothers. “We are so appreciative of everyone’s efforts to keep Huntsville beautiful.”

Special awards were presented to the following:

  • Mayor’s Award: Commerce Center – Lanier Ford
  • Special Recognition from the City of Huntsville and the Beautification Board: Deidra Bigham
  • District 1: Anthem Luxury Rental Homes
  • District 2: Ted’s Bar-B-Q
  • District 3: Magnolia Trace
  • District 4: University of Alabama in Huntsville
  • District 5: The Paddock Club at Providence
