Governor’s Drive – Improving Traffic Flow

The Huntsville Police Department is increasing efforts on a stretch of Governors Dr between California St and Cove Creek to improve traffic flow during peak travel times (morning and early evening rush hours). The public will see an increased officer presence during those times in this area and sign boards to warn drivers of speed enforcement. We would like to emphasize that one of the main contributing circumstances for congestion can be improved by moving wrecked vehicles (when possible), off the main roadway. To help with these efforts, a wrecker service will have a wrecker available and on standby during those peak travel times to improve response time and removal of wrecked vehicles.
