City Council – Meeting Highlights from July 26, 2018

ADMINISTRATION
Council approved a modification to the contract with Hay Buchanan Architects for $28,000 on work the firm is performing to design an expansion and upgrades to the Animal Services Facility. Buchanan will design space for 48 more kennels and provide an overall schematic design for additional phases of renovations. Once the architectural work is complete, bids for construction will be let and work could begin this fall.
Authorized a $50,622 contract with 4Site, Inc. for engineering design services to realign Mark C. Smith Drive in Cummings Research Park to accommodate an adjacent development. The north end of Mark C. Smith Drive will be realigned, approximately 1,800 linear feet further east, with Enterprise Boulevard.
Board Appointments
Melissa Musgrove was reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Huntsville Emergency Medical Service Board effective August 23 for a five year term to expire August 23, 2023.
Kyle Collins was reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Planning Commission of Huntsville effective July 26 and to expire October 1, 2020.
Sally Warden was reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Planning Commission of Huntsville for a three year term effective July 26 and to expire March 12, 2021.
Les Tillery was reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Planning Commission for a three year term effective July 26 and to expire October 26, 2021.
John Ozier was reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Board of Zoning Adjustments for a three year term effective July 26 and to expire April 11, 2021.
Willie Love and John Olshefski were reappointed by Mayor Battle to the Huntsville Police Citizens Advisory Council for a two year term effective July 26 and to expire July 8, 2020.
Council Member made their respective appointments to the Huntsville Police Citizens Advisory Council for terms to expire July 8, 2020: Willie Hinton by Council Member Keith, David Little by Council President Russell, Victoria Guerrieri by Council Member Robinson, Wiley Day by Council Member Culver.
