Municipal offices on two-hour delayed opening, Friday, Jan. 7

City of Huntsville municipal offices, including Municipal Court, will open at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, due to the possibility of early morning icy road conditions. Fixed-route Orbit transit and Access paratransit service will also operate on a two-hour delay. Citizens can sign up for emergency notifications via the City of Huntsville’s website or follow the Huntsville Police Department’s Facebook and Twitter for road closures and other traffic safety information.

Huntsville’s Magnolia Terrace neighborhood could soon join the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) following a historic resource survey funded by the Alabama Historical Commission.
