Adopt a Shelter Pet Day: Help Huntsville Animal Services clear the kennels
April 30, 2024In the market for a new fur-ever friend? There are plenty available for adoption as Huntsville Animal Services seeks to clear the kennels for National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, observed annually on April 30. Animal Services Interim Director Virgie Graham said the shelter is full after taking in 70 dogs last week. April 25, 2024Funding to begin Phase 2 of Huntsville’s residential street repaving plan for this fiscal year has been approved by City Council. Grayson Carter & Son Contracting Inc. won the $6.2 million contract to improve 54 neighborhood streets within the next 10 months. Mayor Tommy Battle’s 2023-2024 budget includes about $18 million for street improvements. Phase 1 of the repaving plan resurfaced 68 residential streets.
