Greenbrier Parkway

SUMMARY
This is a five-phase project to construct a new road through the TVA mega site, connecting I-565 at the Greenbrier exit to I-65 at the Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road exit. The first three phases and Phase 4A (I-565 to Mooresville Road) are complete and open to traffic. A new traffic signal has been activated at the intersection of Greenbrier Parkway and Mooresville Road. Phase 5 will widen Huntsville-Brownsferry Road to connect with I-65.
The Greenbrier Parkway project also includes a new overpass south of Old Highway 20 across the existing Norfolk Southern (NS) railroad crossing that has been completed.
STATUS
All phases of the road are open to traffic. Crews are completing punch list items.

Contractor: Eutaw Construction
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $4.1 million grant funds to the city of Huntsville, Alabama, for construction of this overpass along Greenbrier Parkway. The grant will be matched with $4.1 million in local funds, and is expected to help create 320 jobs and generate $128 million in private investment.
