City Clerk
The goal of the City Clerk’s office is to efficiently hold City Elections, perform record-keeping functions related to City Council meetings, maintain copies of municipal resolutions and ordinances passed by the Huntsville City Council, and provide services to the citizens of Huntsville, elected officials, and other City Departments in a professional and timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
- Perform record management for official records of the City minutes, resolutions, ordinances, contracts, and deeds approved by the City Council
- Coordinate and administer activities related to City Council meetings in compliance with related government codes
- Act as Elections Manager for general and special municipal elections
- Ensure compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and Ethics laws for open records requests
- Oversee mail and printing services for departments and other City agencies
- Serve as City liaison for public agencies receiving outside appropriations
RESOLUTIONS & ORDINANCES
The City Clerk’s Office will provide copies of Resolutions and Ordinances, passed by the Huntsville City Council, for a fee of 25 cents per page.
