The City of Huntsville’s Urban & Long Range Planning Department will host a public input session related to its Vision Zero Huntsville – Multimodal Safety Action Plan from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the First Baptist Church of Huntsville, 600 Governors Dr SW, in the Life Center Auditorium. Attendees should park and enter at Entrance 7 on the St. Clair Avenue side, across from the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.
In a resolution passed in 2022, the City committed to zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries by 2055. City officials are seeking input from citizens on how to improve roadway safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and those who take public transit. Huntsville Transit will provide free rides to and from the meetings, and all meeting facilities are ADA-accessible. Those who need additional special accommodations should call 256-427-5026 or visit HuntsvilleAL.gov/ADA .
