- In District 5, 3,282 housing units were issued building permits in 2021, a 55.5% increase from 2020.
- The housing stock in D5 has increased by 10.5% since the 2020 Census.
- Residential construction in District 5 in 2021 was concentrated in three main areas: 72 West, Mid City and Martin-Zierdt.
- 251 permits for residential additions and alterations were permitted in D5, an increase of 13.1% from 2020.
- The neighborhoods with the most additions and alterations in D5 were near UAH and Providence.
- There are 25 apartment complexes, with a total of 5,246 units, under construction or proposed in D5.
Real Estate
- 1,074 single-family homes were sold in D5 last year, an increase of 0.6% from 2020.
- The average sales price for a single-family home increased by 15.7% between 2020-2021, to $333,894.
Commercial
- 260 non-residential permits were issued in D5 last year, a 1.2% increase over 2020.
