Huntsville Police arrest suspect following overnight shooting

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to a shooting at 708 Poplar Ave. on Monday, March 10, just after midnight.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd and located four victims with gunshot wounds. All four were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on information from witnesses, officers quickly located the suspect at an apartment complex near Sparkman Drive.

The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Jarvis Trymane Jamison, became combative with officers. An HPD K-9 unit was deployed to assist in taking him into custody. While receiving medical treatment for a dog bite at the hospital, Jamison spat on an officer.

Jamison was later transported to the Madison County Jail and charged with the following offenses:

  • Four counts of first-degree aggravated assault
  • Assault with bodily fluid
  • Harassment
  • Resisting arrest
