Arrest Made in Monday Night Blocker Street Shooting

Huntsville Police have charged Demarcus Cawthorne, 39 of Huntsville, with Domestic Violence 1 ^st degree following a Monday night shooting on Blocker Street.

Officers responded to the shooting call just before 8:00 p.m. last night.  When they arrived they found a female outside the home with a gunshot wound to the leg.  Cawthorne, the victim’s husband, was inside the residence and refused to come out.  Officers secured the area and attempted to establish communication with Cawthorne.  At approximately 2:30 a.m., he surrendered and was taken into custody by SWAT Officers without incident. 

After further investigation Cawthorne was charged with Domestic Violence 1 ^st degree and was booked into the Madison County Jail.
