Business Licenses
A license is required for each location operating a business in the Huntsville city limits. To see if your address is inside the city limits, use the Quick Address Search tool.
- Moved to a new location inside the Huntsville City limits
- Changed form of ownership or Federal ID Number and/or
- Diversification or addition of another line of business (revenue source)
Licenses for contractors, subs and building permits are issued through the Inspection Division. All other licenses are issued through the Revenue Division.

| Feb. 1 | Penalty Date – 15% penalty added to license fee |
| Mar. 1 | Additional Penalty Date – 30% penalty added to license fee |
Exception: Insurance License renewals are due on the last day of February. A late payment penalty of 15% applies as of March 1. A penalty of 30% applies on April 1.
