On the rise
Huntsville area home sales totaled 744 units in June, a rise in sales of 8.1% from June 2016. Median sales price in June was $190,000, up 5.5% from June 2016, reports the North Alabama Multiple Listing Service (NAMLS).
Cable service expands
WOW! residential and business services are now available to 30,000 customers in Huntsville, doubling the number of customers since it was introduced in October 2016.
Sweet potatoes, pecans and watermelon…oh my!
According to Auburn University, Alabama’s produce industry has a total output of $161.5 million and value-added production of $103.6 million. Alabama ranks 7 for sweet potato, 8 in pecan, and 8 in watermelon sales in the U.S.
Cyber crime losses increases
Losses from cyber crimes increased by 24% in 2016 to over $1.33 billion, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.
