Six Year Old Killed in Sparkman Drive Accident

A six year old Huntsville girl has died and a 16 year old girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car on Sparkman Drive.

The accident happened last night around 8:00 p.m. when the girls were attempting to cross Sparkman Drive at Rutledge Drive.  They were struck by a car traveling south on Sparkman Drive.  Both girls were transported to the hospital, and six year old Akaila Tabor died a short time later as a result of her injuries.  The accident is still under investigation but no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
