SBI investigating shooting death

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to a domestic violence call in the 6200 block of Rime Village Drive just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.

An armed suspect fired at a fleeing female in front of an HPD officer. An officer discharged his weapon, mortally wounding the suspect.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Per protocol, HPD requested the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to lead the investigation following the incident.
