Roadwork Alerts
Weather permitting, Northbound SR-255 (Research Park Blvd) between Dan Tibbs Road and SR-53 (Jordan Lane) will be closed overnight to traffic from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, for roadwork. Contractors will be installing bridge girders for the Blake Bottom Road interchange project. This closure will apply to both the northbound mainline lanes and the northbound frontage road lanes.

Weather permitting, the intersection of Hadleigh Crest Drive and Highland Park will be modified to operate as an “All-Way” Stop-Controlled intersection on Thursday, March 7, 2019 beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Weather permitting, the turn lanes, striping, overhead signs and signals will be modified at the intersection of Carl T. Jones Drive and Ledges Drive on Thursday, March 7, 2019, beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m.
The dual left turn lanes from Target Exit to Carl T. Jones Drive will be changed to one single left turn lane, and a dedicated single straight lane to Ledges Drive. The right turn lane will remain a dedicated right turn lane. Due to changes in [ more ]
A section of Martin Road, west of the Martin Road/Zeirdt Road intersection, is closed for the next two days, February 27-28, for work crews to make drainage improvements. Public Works is constructing stormwater infrastructure to better alleviate flooding conditions on Martin Road.
Motorists using Martin Road to enter Redstone Arsenal Gate 7 should plan to use alternate routes and allow extra time during peak travel hours.
On February 21, Huntsville Utilities Gas Operations closed the eastbound lane of Clinton Avenue between Spragins Street and Jefferson Street for gas main replacement.
The work is expected to last until 3pm.
Motorists are asked to avoid this area if possible.
Motorists traveling through this area are asked to do so with extreme caution as workers will be present.
If possible, travelers are advised to plan an alternate route to minimize any inconvenience.

Weather permitting; beginning Tuesday, February 12, at 7 a.m., the outside westbound lane on Clinton Avenue between Church Street and Pollard Street and the outside lanes in each direction on Monroe Street, will be temporarily closed to reconfigure the northeast and northwest intersection of Clinton Avenue and Monroe Street.
Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction on Clinton Avenue and Monroe Street at this intersection for approximately 60 working days. Traffic Control measures will be in place [ more ]
Weather permitting, the intersection at Dr. Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and Williams Avenue will begin functioning as a signalized intersection on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Due to changes in the traffic operation of this intersection, motorists are advised to use caution, and obey all traffic control signs and signals at this location.
On February 5, Huntsville Utilities Gas Operations closed the eastbound lane of Clinton Avenue between Pollard Street and Monroe Street for gas main relocation.

At 6pm on January 16, Huntsville Utilities Water Operations will close Gallatin Street between Governors Drive and Longwood Avenue for valve repair work.
The projected time of the closure is eight hours.
