Weather permitting, beginning Wednesday, February 26, and continuing for the next three to four weeks, contractors will begin work on Franklin Street between Lowell Avenue and Governor’s Drive to extend the right turn lane.
The contractor will install a temporary single lane closure on Franklin St. between Lowell Ave. and Governor’s Dr. This work will be performed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Motorists should expect delays during these hours.

Weather permitting, the intersection at 4th Avenue and Triana Boulevard will begin functioning as a signalized intersection on Thursday, Jan. 30, at approximately 10 a.m.
Due to changes in the traffic operation of this intersection, motorists are advised to use caution and obey all traffic control signs and signals at this location.

Saturday, Jan. 25 – Monday, Jan. 27
Weather permitting; beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, through 5 a.m., Monday, Jan. 27, contractors will be closing Jefferson Street between Clinton Avenue and Spring Street for assembly of a tower crane for construction within the area. Traffic control measures will be in place to assist motorists.

Weather permitting, the intersection at Dunlop Boulevard and Science and Engineering Services (SES) Helicopter facility will begin functioning as a signalized intersection on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at approximately 9 a.m.
This signal will rest in a flashing yellow and upon activation during helicopter takeoffs and landings will change to a standard red indication activated by the SES Helicopter facility. Please be advised the signals may stay “on red” for approximately 90 seconds each activated cycle.

Weather permitting, beginning Saturday, January 25, at 7 a.m. through Sunday, January 26, at 6 p.m., contractors will close Shelton Road just north of the Madison Boulevard to perform utility work associated with the Zierdt Road project.
Shelton Road will be closed approximately 200-feet north of the intersection of Madison Boulevard. The contractor will also be shifting traffic on Zierdt Road just north of Edgewater Drive for asphalt repairs during this time.

Weather permitting; beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, contractors will begin shifting traffic on Old Madison Pike at Research Park Boulevard to the south side for bridge construction to begin as part of the Research Park Boulevard Improvement project. A new bridge at Old Madison Pike will be staged constructed to allow one lane of traffic in each direction (2-lanes) across the bridge between January 2020 to mid-2021.

Weather permitting; Beginning at 5 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 23, through 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, Contractors will be closing Avocent Street between Sanderson Road and Corporate Drive for utility installation.
Motorists will need to access Corporate Drive and Sanderson Road via Wynn Drive during this time. Traffic control measures will be in place to assist motorists.

Weather permitting; beginning Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 9 a.m. until Friday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m., the contractor will be closing the southernmost lane on Bob Wallace Avenue between Memorial Parkway and Commerce Court.
Closure is needed for sidewalk installation along the south side of Bob Wallace Avenue.
Traffic control will be in place to direct motorists.

Weather permitting, the intersection of Beirne Avenue and Russell Street will be modified to operate as an “All-Way” Stop-Controlled intersection on Tuesday, January 14, beginning at approximately 9 a.m.
Motorists are advised to use caution and obey all traffic control signs and pavement markings.

Beginning Monday, January 13, at 6 a.m., Old Highway 20 at Norfolk Southern Railroad, located between Segers Road and Greenbrier Road, will be closed for railroad and bridge construction. Roadway is anticipated to remain closed until the end of the year as new roadway and bridge improvement projects are completed within the area.
Detour routes will be in place to direct traffic to Greenbrier Road and Segers Road in the area. Please use alternative routes to avoid this road closure.
