Weather permitting, the intersection at Jan Davis Drive at BAE/Raytheon will begin functioning as a signalized intersection on Tuesday, May 19 at approximately 9 a.m.
Due to changes in the traffic operation of this intersection, motorists are advised to use caution, and obey all traffic control signs and signals at this location.

Weather permitting; the eastbound lane along St. Clair Avenue SW (between Dorothy Ford Lane SW and Gallatin Street) will be closed, beginning May 15, at 7 a.m. and will reopen no later than May 18, at 6 p.m. Westbound traffic will remain open during this period.
The closure is needed for construction work at 101 Sivley Road SW.
Traffic control, will be in place to direct traffic. Please use caution when in the area.

Weather permitting; Tuesday, May 12, beginning at 7 a.m. through 5 p.m., Holmes Avenue (between Greene Street and Lincoln Street) and Lincoln Street (between Holmes Avenue and Clinton Avenue) will be closed for the contractor to assemble and erect a tower crane for construction associated with the new parking deck structure at the southeast corner of Holmes Avenue and Greene Street.

Weather permitting; begin Wednesday, April 29 at 8:30 p.m. until Thursday, April 30 at 4:30 a.m, the south side of Homer Nance Road at the intersection with Winchester Road will be closed. The closure is needed to allow for the installation of a storm drainage pipe as part of the Winchester Road roadway improvement project currently under construction.

Weather permitting, beginning Friday, April 24 at 9 a.m., contractors will install lane shifts on Zierdt Rd. between Madison Boulevard. and Edgewater Drive for concrete and paving work to proceed on the roadway project.
Southbound Zierdt Road traffic will shift west to the new lanes between Madison Blvd. and Edgewater Drive while Northbound traffic will remain in the current traffic pattern. One lane will remain open in each direction, and the contractor will begin working in the [ more ]
Weather permitting, beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday April 6, Greenbrier Parkway at the Norfolk Southern Railroad track crossing between Greenbrier Road and Old Hwy 20 will be closed for new railroad and bridge construction to occur. Greenbrier Parkway will be reopened upon completion of a new bridge overpass at this location which is anticipated to be complete near the end of 2020.

Between Friday April 3 through Tuesday April 7
Weather permitting, beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 3 the Huntsville and Madison County Railroad Authority (HMCRRA) will have periodic lane closures along Holmes Avenue just west of Woodson Street for track work to occur. The roadway will be reopened on Friday and through the weekend.
Then beginning on Monday, April 6, through Tuesday, April 7 Holmes Avenue will be closed at the same location for HMCRRA to replace the railroad track crossing. [ more ]
The City of Huntsville Water Pollution Control Department has closed Drake Avenue, between Briarwood Drive and Garth Road, until 3 p.m. today. The reason for the closure is due to an emergency sanitary sewer repair in the area.
Traffic control, as well as road closure signage, will be in place to direct traffic around the work area. See road closure map for additional clarification.

Weather permitting, beginning Wednesday, March 11, contractors will close Cecil Fain Drive, north of Winchester Road for roadway improvements at the Johnson Legacy Center.
The contractor will rebuild the roadway to include curb and gutter, sidewalks, landscaping and lighting. Contractors anticipate reopening Cecil Fain Drive within ninety (90) days or as soon as the work is completed.
Traffic will be directed to access the Public Safety Training Academy at the former Johnson High School via Colfax Road to Pueblo Drive. Please see map [ more ]
The Alabama Department of Transportation entered into an emergency agreement with Reed Contracting to continue removal of material from the U.S. 231 landslide area on Brindlee Mountain in Morgan County.
With about 1,000 feet of pavement already removed, excavating colluvial rock and soil to further reduce the load on the slide area is the first step toward permanent repair. The contractor is on site today preparing for the excavation work expected to proceed Saturday, weather permitting.
