Weather permitting, Williams Avenue SW, between Dr. Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and Monroe Street SW, will be closed beginning June, 26 at 10 p.m. and will reopen no later than June 27 at 6 a.m.
The closure is needed for utility work construction at 401 Williams Avenue S.W.
Traffic control, as well as detour route signage, will be in place to direct traffic around the work area. Please use caution when in the area.

Weather permitting, on Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28, contractors will close Vermont Road SW between Briar Green Drive and Chris Drive. The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and end about 8 p.m. Sunday. The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer improvements.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. Traffic control and road closure signage will be in place to direct traffic around the work area. Please see map for detour route.
Weather permitting, beginning at 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, through 2 p.m. contractors will close Jefferson Street between Clinton Avenue and Spring Street for construction associated with a new hotel. Traffic control measures will be in place to assist motorists.

Wednesday, June 24 between 3 a.m. – 9 a.m.
Weather permitting, Wednesday, June 24 beginning at 3 a.m. through 9 am., Holmes Avenue (between Greene Street and Lincoln Street) will be closed for the construction associated with the new parking deck structure at the southeast corner of Holmes Avenue and Greene Street.
Traffic control will be in place to direct motorists around this area. Please use alternate routes to avoid congestion in this area during this time.

The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists of upcoming changes at two interchanges on Interstate 565 in Limestone County: The new eastbound Exit 3 offramp from I-565 to Greenbrier Road and Swancott Road will open Wednesday, June 17. Wednesday night, the contractor will begin setting barriers to temporarily close both eastbound ramps at Exit 2 (Mooresville Road).
Eastbound traffic to and from Mooresville Road will be detoured to the Greenbrier interchange. The closure is expected to remain in place about one [ more ]

Weather permitting, Contractor will have temporary lane closures on Old Big Cove, just east of Sutton Road associated with the Cecil Ashburn widening project. The work will consist of constructing double left-turn lanes on Old Big Cove Road on the south side of the Sutton Road intersection. Lanes to stay open in daytime; night delays possible
The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that work on the $14.3 million widening and resurfacing of Interstate 565 in Limestone County, the first major project funded by the Rebuild Alabama Act, will begin on the night of Sunday, June 14.
Reed Contracting of Huntsville will resurface more than seven miles of I-565 from just west of Exit 1 (Interstate 65) to just west of Exit 7 (County Line [ more ]
Beginning June 3, Public Works will close about 500 feet of Meadowbrook Drive, westbound from South Memorial Parkway, to perform necessary road repairs.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and obey all traffic control signs and signals. Motorists should use National Boulevard and Haysland Road/Weatherly Road to access apartments and businesses along Meadowbrook Drive.
Weather permitting, beginning Wednesday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 10, excluding weekends hours, contractors will be performing utility improvements across Sutton Road between Taylor Road and James Road between 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. Traffic will be shifted to allow work to occur while maintaining a single lane in each direction (two lanes will remain open to traffic).

Weather permitting, the intersection at Terry Drake Road/Taylor Road will begin functioning as a signalized intersection on Monday, June 8 at approximately 9 a.m.
Due to changes in the traffic operation of this intersection, motorists are advised to use caution, and obey all traffic control signs and signals at this location.
