Weather permitting, Saturday, Aug. 22, contractors will close Vermont Road SW between Briar Green Drive SW and Chris Drive SW, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., to make sanitary improvements in the area.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. Traffic control, as well as road closure signage, will be in place to direct traffic around the work area. Please see attached map for detour routes.

Weather permitting, Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21, Water Pollution Control will be closing both lanes of Old Highway 431 between Burress Road and Berkley Road. This lane closure will occur daily between the hours of 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. The reason for the closure is due to sanitary sewer improvements in area.

Weather permitting, contractors will be closing the northbound outside lane of Whitesburg Drive from Drake Avenue to Garland Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday, August 12-13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The closing is needed for road repairs.
Traffic control safety precautions will be in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Weather permitting, contractors will be setting bridge girders on Old Madison Pike at Research Park Boulevard on Friday, August 7 through Sunday August 9. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction nightly between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Periodic lane closures and traffic delays will occur during this time. Please use caution when traveling through the area.

Weather permitting; beginning Thursday, August 6, at approximately 10 a.m., City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering will modify the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Eighth Street to operate as an “All-Way” Stop Controlled intersection.

All surrounding streets will remain open and accessible.
Traffic control will be in place to detour traffic. No through traffic will be allowed. All access to local businesses will remain open during this time.

July 13 – July 31
HUNTSVILLE, AL – Weather permitting, beginning Monday July 13, through Friday, July 31, City crews will close Caldwell Lane between US 431 and King Drake Road for drainage and roadway improvements. This road closure will be from Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 31.
