GARBAGE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Huntsville City limits on the holidays listed below. Collection through the week will be delayed by one day beginning with the regular Monday pickups occurring on Tuesday.
In general, if your garbage collection date falls on a holiday, place your can by the curb the evening before the next business day.
City of Huntsville Holidays 2024
- Monday, Jan. 1 – New Year’s Day (Collections will be delayed by one day the week of Jan. 1-5. Residents should leave cans at the curb until they are collected.)
- Monday, Jan. 15 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Collections will be delayed by one day)
- Friday, March 29 – Good Friday
- Monday, May 27 – Memorial Day (Collections will be delayed by one day)
- Wednesday, June 19 – Juneteenth (Collections will be delayed by one day)
- Thursday, July 4 – Independence Day (Collections delayed by one day after July 4)
- Monday, Sept. 2 – Labor Day (Collections will be delayed by one day)
- Monday, Nov. 11 – Veterans Day
- Thursday-Friday, Nov. 28-29 – Thanksgiving (Thursday routes will be collected Friday)
- Wednesday, Dec. 25 – Christmas (Collections will be delayed by one day)
RECYCLING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Recycling is managed through the Solid Waste Disposal Authority’s contractor, the Recycling Alliance of North Alabama (RANA) and adheres to a separate pick-up schedule. Information regarding recycling pick-ups and holiday schedules can be accessed through RANA’s website or by calling 256-880-6054.
