Historic marker recognizes Huntsville’s role in women’s suffrage movement
May 19, 2021Mayor Tommy Battle joined the Historic Huntsville Foundation (HHF) and other state and local preservation officials Wednesday to dedicate a historic marker celebrating Huntsville’s involvement in the women’s suffrage movement. May 14, 2021The Huntsville Police Department is conducting a death investigation for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 12. Officers responded to a call shortly before 7 p.m. about an altercation at home on the 2800 block of Brett Road. When officers arrived, they discovered Alex West, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound(s). West was pronounced dead at the scene.
