Expect traffic delays: Alabama A&M University homecoming

The Huntsville Police Department is assisting Alabama A&M University Police with traffic control for the University’s homecoming parade and football game on Saturday, October 9. Drivers should expect delays or avoid North Memorial Parkway, Winchester Road and Meridian Street near the University’s campus. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged 23-year-old Michael Anthony McDade Jr. with Murder after a shooting call at 6620 Old Madison Pike around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, October 8. HEMSI transported two patients to the hospital following the shooting. 24-year-old Quentaveis Shaquan Fletcher was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged 24-year-old Chassidy Jacoya White with Murder following a deadly shooting. Officers responded to 3912 Talwell Drive on Wednesday, October 6, and discovered 32-year-old Jabarry Tylon Lavell Keller dead. HPD Major Crimes Unit Investigators believe Keller was staying at White’s apartment, and a verbal altercation between White and Keller led up to the shooting. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged 28-year-old Terrel Lamont Bradford for capital murder following a deadly shooting at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 3. Bradford is accused of killing 23-year-old Rishawna Mialynn Brooks after a domestic-related altercation in the parking lot of 4611 Governors House Drive. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) is seeking information on the whereabouts of 26-year-old Devin Morton. His family has not heard from him since August 31. Morton is five feet 11 inches and weighs around 235 pounds. He has a Buckeyes tattoo on his arm and goes by the nickname, “St. Louis.” Morton was reported missing in September and previously stayed at the Downtown Rescue Mission. The Huntsville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in a missing person’s case. 31-year-old Yousef Mohammad Abdi is described as a Black male 6’4 and 210 pounds. Abdi was reported missing on August 27. He has been known to frequent the parks in North Huntsville. His family has not heard from him since July which is uncommon. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) is asking for the public’s assistance for information about the whereabouts of 27-year-old Deonte Shavon Shelton. Major Crimes Unit Investigators have obtained murder and robbery warrants for Shelton following a shooting incident at 4116 Newson Road on Thursday, September 30 at 12:17 p.m. Shelton is accused of shooting and killing the victim, 54-year-old Tyron Williams, following a verbal altercation between the two at an apartment complex.
