Huntsville municipal offices closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
January 12, 2022HUNTSVILLE, AL – City of Huntsville municipal offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This includes Animal Services, Parks & Recreation, Public Transit and Municipal Court. Residential garbage collection will be delayed by one day the week of Jan. 17-21. January 7, 2022The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has requested the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) lead a death investigation related to an incident on Lawsons Ridge Drive that occurred Friday, Jan. 7. SBI has charged HPD Officer David McCoy, who was off duty at the time of the incident, with capital murder. McCoy has been placed on administrative leave by HPD.
